This collaborative study is designed to move beyond theory and give you practical, immediately implementable strategies.

  • Week One (1/26): Introduction & Chapter One

    • Rethinking the Purpose of School and tying Story into your classroom/curriculum.

  • Week Two (2/2): Chapter Two

    • The value of Authenticity in the classroom, finding themes in content standards, and generating ideas for Epic Project-Based Learning.

  • Week Three (2/9): Chapter Three & Four

    • The importance of the project launch ("Inciting Incident"), why Authenticity/Conflict is vital to student work, and the purpose of Inquiry in the classroom.

  • Week Four (2/16): Chapters Five & Six

    • Ways to make your Classroom Setting fit the story of a specific unit, managing the difficulties of Collaborative Projects, and sharing wisdom about Differentiation.

  • Week Five (2/23): Chapters Seven – Ten

    • The value of turning lectures into Stories, the power of teacher Vulnerability, and making a commitment to making your classroom Epic. We will also discuss student reflection and becoming storytellers.
