Online Learning Policies

The use of digital courses and curriculum continues to gain momentum in traditional school classrooms all across our state and nation.

With this growth, many of our consortium districts are beginning to develop and implement updated policies and practices to keep up with the changing times.

As learning options such as “full-time virtual,” “blended,” “learning centers,” “online credit advancement,” “flex scheduled courses,” “zero hour,” “digital snow days,” and more all enter our vocabulary for consideration, some districts have started to define working policies, handbooks, and procedures as to how each of these options will function in their local school districts.

If you are interested in reviewing some of the policies and procedures which have been developed by several of our consortium district partners, we have compiled several samples which can be viewed and downloaded here:

I look forward to seeing each of our partners this winter and spring and learning more firsthand about your local initiatives surrounding digital learning.  It is our collaboration and willingness to share ideas which allows us to be examples and leaders on these new educational horizons. Your willingness to work together provides all of our students and families equitable, local, learning options and pathways that were nearly non-existent only a decade ago.  Thank you for your continued leadership and cooperation.
