A Look Ahead
As we wrap up this year and start heading into the next, here a couple things for you to keep in mind and consider regarding your partnership with RVA.
Learning Centers
One of the most recent initiatives that have been launched has been in working with our partner districts to consider opening a local “Learning Center.” Once opened, these local learning centers provide access to financial credits which reduce the yearend costs. The expectations for opening and operating one of these centers is relatively light and allows for a large amount of local operational autonomy. The idea behind the learning center is that it can be a place which supports all of our online learners: both full-time virtual as well as in our traditional schools. More specifics can be found within the application here:
RVA Learning Center Credit Application
The districts wanting to start a local learning center for the 2019-20 school year, to take advantage of the fiscal benefits, will need to have an application submitted any time before January 17, 2020.
*All districts currently running a local learning center and intending on continuing through the 2019-20 school year, will also need to reapply for the credit any time before January 17, 2020.*
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
RVA Open House
One of services that the RVA provides to our partners is in running local “open houses” to inform parents, school staff, and other community members about what your partnership with the RVA is all about. If you think your district would like to host an event like this, please reach out and let me know.
